Barracuda Taco Stand, a beloved New Orleans landmark, recently underwent a comprehensive renovation at their Algiers location to enhance their customer experience. The project included the design and installation of a new canopy for their historic gas station building, a collaboration with the talented team at CICADA.
The primary objective of the canopy design was to meet the stringent guidelines of the Historic District Landmarks Commission (HDLC) while maintaining aesthetic appeal and functionality. CICADA's solution was a canopy that was modern enough not to detract from the historic nature of the existing building, but also provided maximum coverage for patrons, protecting them from the elements.
In addition to its practical function, the canopy was designed to accommodate both heating and cooling systems, ensuring that customers could enjoy the outdoor seating area comfortably throughout the year. This thoughtful detail further enhanced the overall dining experience at Barracuda Taco Stand.
