CICADA recently collaborated with Tiek by Day on an innovative design project for Tsunami Highland BR's ceiling installation. The project involved developing a sophisticated design script using Grasshopper, allowing the design team to explore a wide range of design iterations for a ceiling made entirely of brass piping.
Our script played a crucial role in streamlining both the design and fabrication processes. It enabled Tiek by Day to rapidly prototype and iterate through various design options while adhering to strict client constraints, including pipe quantities, lengths, spacing, depths, and precise installation layouts for the general contractor. To further support the design process, CICADA also produced multiple 3D-printed models, helping the team visualize and refine the optimal solution.
This collaboration resulted in a highly customizable and efficient design process, ensuring that the final installation met both the aesthetic and technical requirements of the client.
