Project
Info
Reve Realtors, a prominent New Orleans real estate firm, entrusted CICADA with a unique challenge: to transform an existing historic brick multiuse building into their future headquarters. The project encountered significant design hurdles due to the site’s non-conforming (zero lot line) structure. However, our creative solutions yielded a modern, functional, and aesthetically pleasing workspace that embodies Reve Realtors’ brand and values.
Incorporating existing structures that didn’t align with current zoning regulations posed a primary challenge. Despite limitations in layout and size, our architectural team seamlessly integrated these elements, preserving their historical significance while fostering a cohesive environment.
CICADA collaborated with Ferrand Design to craft a warm, residential ambiance appealing to both employees and clients. Strategically placed windows flooded the space with natural light, while a calming neutral palette set the tone.
The layout accommodates realtors who prefer a communal workspace, complete with readily available conference centers and easy access to the resident broker. Additionally, Reve Realtors’ commitment to the real estate community shines through a large, state-of-the-art conference center. Its movable glass wall allows for easy conversion into a social uptown house party, opening up to the adjacent shaded atrium—an oasis of natural air and unique experience.
Leveraging state and federal historic tax credits, Reve Realtors maximized value during the design and construction process. Preserving the original beadboard ceiling and incorporating local materials anchored the building within the local vernacular.
The completed project stands as a milestone—a testament to adaptive reuse, thoughtful design, and urban renewal. Reve Realtors’ new office space isn’t merely functional; it’s exceptional.
